About the founder
Meet Michelle Ray, CEO and Founder, Real-Time Leadership Academy
My passion for leadership research stems from my early days in the Australian media industry. Graduating during a global recession, finding work proved extremely challenging.
I sought internship opportunities in journalism by writing to CEOs of media organizations in my home state, garnering 27 responses and four interviews, one with Australia’s first news-talk radio station. Although I didn’t get to work in the newsroom, the director of advertising sales hired me as her right-hand administrative assistant. She was ahead of her time as The Devil Wears Prada, wreaking havoc in our department, along with a cast of less than memorable managers.
My early experiences left a lasting impression, driving my quest for a mentor embodying positive leadership qualities. It took almost a decade to find role models who believed in me, had faith in me, and were staunch supporters of my work.
Fast-forward to today where I’ve dedicated over twenty-five years to developing great leaders, helping them create exceptional team relationships and mitigate talent shortages while focussing on what they can control.
I strongly believe that it has never been more critical for leaders to realize their substantial impact on an employee’s career path. This led me to create a platform for organizations to empower their leaders to develop new ways to communicate, collaborate, and connect on a human level. Hence, the birth of the Real-Time Leadership Academy.
